Backyard Shenanigans

This thing is running around our backyard as we speak. The Sheriff and I are scared to venture into the wilderness beyond our back door in fear this thing will attack. The thing with nutrias is they are not afraid of humans...oh no no oh contrare...instead of running away from you they will run at you and try to attack. They are mostly deaf and blind so I'm sure their aim isn't amazing but they have some pretty grotesque orange teeth that I don't want anywhere near me. Sadly though...the sheriff is more frightened than I am. No we don't live in the marshes of the south but the creature roaming our backyard might have you believing otherwise.

A moment of silence and some good thoughts

So today I got some really really sad news. One of my teachers from high school Ms. Hylton died this morning from complications with brain cancer. She was an amazing woman and an incredible teacher. She will be greatly missed and my thoughts are with her family.

Ice Cream Sandwich Maxi Jones?

I LOVE GENERAL HOSPITAL!!!...and...I LOVE MAXI JONES. She has a sassy no apology attitude and a killer wardrobe! However, the ex-Zenon girl of the 21st century should probably eat an ice cream sandwich...like I am doing right now.

AND...speaking of ice cream sandwiches have I ever told you that it is the one food that I take forever to eat. I could probably take 20-30 mins eating one of those bad boys. I like to wait for the ice cream in the middle to get soft and then I lick it all around the edges til the chocolate part is really hanging over and then I like to peel off one of the outside pieces and eat it..and THEN...I precede to eat the rest. Well the sheriff wolfed his down in two secs and looked over and was VERY jealous of how much I had left. He then accused me of purposely eating it slow and told me he should get a bite because he is bigger than me. Well excuse me for being a half a foot shorter than you...I can still totally hold my own in an eating contest. Anyway...being the amazing girlfriend I am I gave him a bite and then he preceded to lick the extra chocolate off my fingers. Okay is it just me or is it weird to feel someone else suck on your fingers? Yeah ok thats what I thought, it is odd. Needless to say the ice cream sandwich was delicious and I look forward to eating another one tomorrow.

Still...I WANT MAXI JONES WARDROBE...and a little bit of her attitude...not gonna lie!

People Like this Should be Shot

Alright...maybe not shot, thats a little dramatic..but the story I heard today that I am going to repeat here makes me want to puke. My bestie from Cali called me today and had a little story to tell me. She was at work helping a guest (she works at a coffee, cheese, wine shop) and the telephone rings so she answers it and the conversation went like this.

Ms. Rude: My I speak with Char.

The Bestie: She is not here today but Chelsea is if you would like to speak with her

Ms. Rude: Is that the Mexican? Because we don't come in when that Mexican is working.

Completely dumbfounded by this ladies complete ignorance and trying to keep her composure Sarah preceded to say...

The Bestie: I don't know what everyones nationality is around here (Keep in mind Sarah is from Spanish decent).

Ms. Rude: Well that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. A Mexican is a Mexican and when I see them walking down the street I turn the other way.

The Bestie: Well char is not here she will be back on Tuesday if you want to call back then.

Ms. Rude: What was your name again?

The Bestie: Sarah

Ms. Rude:...click...

WHAT THE (excuse my French) FUCK!!!!!!!! That lady is a plague on our society and I hope she receives a hard fast slap in the face, people like that should not be aloud out of their houses. Ugh..make me puke.

Grrrr Coffee

So...2 Christmas' ago my brother and his girlfriend bought me a coffee pot for Christmas. Back then I wasn't much of a coffee drinker so I used it more or less for heating water for hot tea. Well I have really gotten into plain black coffee and finally decided that I should by and make my own coffee instead of always going to starbucks and wasting the cups and my money. Well...I finally bought some today and went to make it this morning and my coffee pot is missing a piece!!!! WTF are the chances of that! Needless to say I'm extremely annoyed because all I want is a damn cup of coffee!

UPDATE:
The Sheriff and I bought a new coffee pot this evening. We went to freddy's and saw this nifty coffee pot that was originally $45 on sale for $30. Being the savvy shoppers that we are we decided to get that one..but...of course there were none left so we deliberated over driving to another Fred's...so we climbed back into the honda and drove to the next Freddys, however we ran into the same problem. We really wanted it though so I started looking around and I just happened to look up and saw a stalk of more coffee pots above us!!!! Woohoo! We found one...except I wish I would have looked up at the other store because I'm sure there was one up there. O'well I have a new coffee pot and I already have it set on auto brew so I can wake up to a nice cup of joe in the morning. That is of course after I wake up to the Sheriff...sounds like an amazing morning...wait then I have to work..

Bend it like Butler

The Sheriff and I just returned from Bend today. We went there on Tuesday to catch John Butler Trio in concert at the Bend Athletic Club. Can I just say it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. It was a small outdoor venue with reasonably priced beer (4.50 for a 20 oz deschutes!!!) unheard of for concert prices! Anyway The John Butler Trio put on a spectacular show. They are amazing musicians and if you like folk rock I would definitely say check them out. They do some crazy things with their instruments and are just all around great performers. After the show we grabbed some grub at The St. Francis School McMenamins and then headed back to our little "weekend" humble abode at the In of the Seventh Mountain. Last Christmas the sheriffs parental units hooked us up with a gift certificate to the bend resort and we decided this would be a great time to use it. The next day we explored Bend and stopped at a used book store. I picked up 3 used books for $15 dollars and can't wait to read them! We ate lunch at the Deschutes Brewery Restaurant and I had a portobello mushroom sandwich and it was absolutely delish! Nick had some crazy mac and cheese concoction that was quite yummy also. After we did a little exploring we went back to the Inn and rented some mountain bikes. I have learned that I absolutely HATE mountain biking. I feel extremely unstable and unsafe and needless to say we didn't last long on the mountain bikes because I couldn't hack it. We then enjoyed the hot tub and later made a fantastic fajita dinner in our room because it has a full kitchen!! We then attempted to check out the Bend nightlife but since neither of us are super familiar with Bend we didn't stumble upon a whole lot. We grabbed a drink at a local dive bar and then headed back home, we crawled in bed and I watched some project runway til I fell asleep. This morning we had breakfast and then packed up the rig and headed home. It was such an awesome mini vacation I couldn't have asked for a better time or a better person to spend it with!
